Igeekphone April 2 news, Korean media ETNews published a blog post today (April 2), reporting that Samsung’s thinnest flagship Galaxy S25 Edge mobile phone will be delayed to May or June 2025, Pricing (approx. 1.5 million won for 256GB) and configuration (5.8mm thickness) remain unchanged.
According to the blog post, the adjustment is related to the leadership change of the MX (Mobile experience) business unit, and the current head of the MX department, Lu Taiwen, is also the head of the device experience (DX) department, which needs to prioritize DX business.
The source said that Samsung may follow the “teaser video” form of the Galaxy Z Fold SE and release the Galaxy S25 Edge phone online.
In terms of price, the Galaxy S25 Edge is positioned at the high-end, and the 256GB version is expected to be priced at 1.5 million won (Igeekphone note: the current exchange rate is about 7,413 yuan), between the S25 Plus (1,353,000 won) and S25 Ultra (1,698,000 won).
The machine features a 5.8mm ultra-thin body, with a 6.66-inch screen, available in silver, black and blue colors, and the annual production is planned to be 3 million units, considering that the Galaxy S25 series is targeted to ship about 37 million units, the model accounts for about 8% of the share.
Samsung stressed that the delay was not due to product quality issues, but to optimize the launch strategy. The MX division has said that the S25 Edge will be “an innovative product that combines ultra-thin design and image performance.” At present, the specific listing time is still not public, but the internal target is locked in the first half of 2025.
