Samsung recently announced that the Galaxy S23 series will be released on February 1, but rumors about the Galaxy S24 have already surfaced. Leaks suggest the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have an improved telephoto camera.
According to @RGcloudS tweets, Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a telephoto camera with “Gen4” optics, with an aperture between “2.5 and 2.9”. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will likely support 150x zoom. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra already supports 100x space zoom.
In addition, the source claims that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra telephoto camera may have a variable zoom feature. Last month, LG Innotek announced a telephoto camera lens that offers a 4x to 9x continuous zoom range, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to support similar camera hardware, but it’s not quite certain yet.
According to the source, while the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers significantly better zoom capability, it’s no match for Xiaomi 13 Ultra. This suggests that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone may have some crazy telephoto camera hardware. The Mi 13 Ultra will also compete with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in camera image.
