Igeekphone news on March 20, Samsung will launch a new Galaxy Z Fold/Flip6 series folding screen mobile phones in the second half of this year. Recently, South Korean media The Elec and “Current Magazine e” revealed more information about the series of mobile phones.
Igeekphone collated the two Korean media Revelations as follows:
Galaxy Z Fold/Filp 6
According to The Elec, Samsung Electronics’ suppliers plan to start producing parts for the Galaxy Z Fold/Filp 6 in early May, while last year’s Galaxy Z Fold/Filp 5 parts production began in late May.
This means that the overall schedule for the standard Galaxy Z model is two to three weeks earlier than last year.
Last year’s Galaxy Z 5 series phones were released on August 11. Considering the change of pace, this year’s press conference is expected to be advanced to the end of July.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE
For the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, “Current Affairs Weekly e” believes that it will be inferior to the standard version of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of processor, screen, battery and so on.
Citing supply chain news, the media said that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is expected to carry the standard version of the same specifications on the camera. The Elec said the model will not support a stylus, the body design is thinner than the standard version, and the weight will be reduced.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is expected to be released in September to October, about a quarter later than the standard version, and the same time as Apple’s iPhone 16 to divert consumer attention.
The Elec estimates that the Fold 6 FE shipments are only 200,000 to 300,000 units, and “Current Affairs Weekly e” said that the model will be priced at $800 (Igeekphone note: Currently about 5760 yuan).
Samsung Electronics is currently facing severe challenges in the folding screen mobile phone market, DSCC predicts that its sales in the first quarter will be overtaken by Huawei, and the downward expansion of the folding screen product line is conducive to Samsung to maintain market share.
