As the launch of Samsung’s next foldable smartphone approaches, whistleblower Ross Young has revealed some new details on the color scheme and storage configuration of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 on social media.
Igeekphone noted that Samsung’s Z Flip series has been unique in the foldable mobile phone product line with its beautiful colors, and the Z Flip 5 on the official website has as many as seven colors. According to previous reports, the Z Flip 6 will be available in light blue, light green, silver and yellow. Young further clarified this time, saying the light green version will be called “Mint Green,” while the silver version will likely be called “Phantom Silver.”
In addition, the Z Flip 6 color scheme will also include some limited edition special colors, such as “Artisan black”, “peach Pink” and “white”. Notably absent from the list is the signature purple/lavender color of previous generations of Z Flip.
Compared to the Z Flip 6’s colorful color scheme, the Z Fold 6’s color scheme is more understated. Previously expected color schemes include dark blue, light pink and silver. Young confirmed that the blue and silver names were slightly adjusted to “Navy Blue” and “Phantom Silver,” respectively.
In addition, the Z Fold 6 will also be available in a limited edition “Crafty black” and “white” color scheme. While the overall color scheme of the Z Fold 6 is similar to that of its predecessor, the new light pink version may give it a little pizzazz.
Young also mentioned that the storage configuration of the two foldable phones is likely to remain the same as the previous generation. The Flip 6 will reportedly be available in 256GB and 512GB versions, while the Fold 6 will be available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB (1024GB) versions.
While the Z Flip 6 May seem like a routine upgrade, the Z Fold 6 could mark a major shift in Samsung’s foldable phone strategy. There are rumors that Samsung may launch a more expensive “Ultra” version, or introduce a more cost-effective “FE” version to increase the appeal of foldable smartphones.
Both phones are expected to be officially unveiled at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, and there is speculation that the launch date could be as early as July 10 in order to catch the heat of the Paris Olympics.
