Samsung’s latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, was officially unveiled during a launch event held tonight.
In terms of pricing, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 offers different storage options. The 256GB version is priced at 1,749 pounds (approximately 16,200 yuan), the 512GB version is priced at 1,849 pounds (about 17,100 yuan), and the top-tier 1TB version comes at 2,049 pounds (around 18,900 yuan). The Bank of China variant also provides two storage options: 512GB and 1TB. Early adopters can get their hands on the Bank of China version for 13,999 yuan and 15,999 yuan, respectively.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 maintains the design aesthetics of its predecessor. The device features a 6.2-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner screen. The external screen has a punch-hole camera with a resolution of 10 Megapixels, while the internal screen boasts an under-screen camera with 4 Megapixels.
Compared to the previous generation, the Galaxy Z Fold5 has shed some weight, now weighing 253g. It also introduces support for the S Pen stylus and offers IPX8 waterproofing.
Regarding core specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold5 boasts an external screen resolution of 2316×904 and an internal screen resolution of 2176×1812. The internal screen also supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and has seen a 30% increase in peak brightness, now reaching 1750 nits.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 mobile platform and 12GB of RAM. The rear camera setup comprises a 12MP super wide-angle lens, a 50MP wide-angle primary camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens. The battery capacity is 4400 mAh and supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 internationally on August 11.
