The official launch of Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Z series devices is less than six months away. Samsung is expected to release its Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable phones sometime in August or September, and now the features and design features of these new phones have been revealed.
Leaks have revealed more information about the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which will have a huge secondary display.
According to SuperRoader, the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s secondary display comes in two parts. A smaller display displaying the clock, battery level and AR emoticons can be seen next to its dual cameras.
When folded, the larger secondary display (estimated 3.4 inches) spans the rest of the back of the phone and has an aspect ratio of 1:1.038, meaning IT’s almost square. It’s easier to interact with notifications, quick Settings, and widgets without having to open the phone. It also doubles as a better camera viewfinder.
Another design change is the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s straight-edge bezel plus rounded corners. Thanks to the rumored drop-shaped hinge, the phone is expected to fold completely flat, with no gaps between the two parts of the device. Fingerprint recognition is located on the side. According to the tipster, Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is still IPX8 waterproof. The phone’s internal display is reportedly narrower than the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Ice Universe also hinted at new touchscreen technology in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. It is expected to feature a foldable screen with barely visible creases, a larger main camera sensor, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip and longer battery life.
