Last week, it was reported by Ice Universe on Twitter that Samsung‘s next foldable clamshell phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, is coming with the same 15W charging capacity as the original Galaxy Z Flip. A recent 3C certification entry for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 now refutes this.
The 3C certification shows that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 with model number SM-F7110 is paired with the EP-TA200 and EP-TA800 chargers. It’s unclear which phone will actually be equipped with, but it does confirm that the Z Flip 3 will be compatible with the faster charger of the two.
While the EP-TA200 is the Adaptive 15W charger, the EP-TA800 is a 25W charger that will also come pre-packaged with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, most likely users will only receive a 15W charger in the box, the reason is to save costs.
This entry into the 3C is different from the one we saw in May. Although it was the same model number SM-F7110, there was no mention of the EP-TA800 charger that we now see in the recent 3C certification.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to have dual batteries with a combined capacity of 3300mAh, which is perfectly matched by the Snapdragon 888 chip and 120 Hz display, so don’t worry.
Increasing the charging speed from 15W to 25W won’t improve battery life on a single charge, but it will make charging the 3300mAh battery much faster. Samsung is expected to launch the device on August 11 at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, exact information about the charger will be revealed at this ceremony.
