the house secretary learned that the second model of Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch series is not “Galaxy Watch 4 Active”, but “Galaxy Watch 4 Classic”. On June 30, AndroidHeadlines shared a leaked rendering of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, showing this product from all angles. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will be available in three sizes for the first time: 42 mm, 44 mm, and 46 mm. Usually, it is only available in two sizes. It will also be available in three colors: white, gray, and black, white looks amazing, and black and gray look milder. The watch is also available in stainless steel or aluminum. It seems that all three sizes can be selected from stainless steel or aluminum.
Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will continue to be compatible with traditional straps. Any 20mm strap is suitable for all three sizes of watches. In the box, you will get two straps, one S/M, and one M/L option. Therefore, no matter how big your wrist is, the attached wrist strap should work normally. Although we only see silicon straps here, Samsung is likely to offer other straps that can be purchased separately, such as leather or metal.
The watch dial will be protected by Gorilla Glass DX or DX+. Stainless steel models are equipped with Gorilla Glass DX, and aluminum models are equipped with Gorilla Glass DX+. Gorilla Glass DX+ sounds better, but it is more suitable for aluminum because it is softer and has better scratch resistance. Therefore, it makes sense to put it on the softer of the two materials.
More specifications are also listed on the watch. It is rated at 5ATM, which means users can wear it in showers and swimming pools. It also passed the MIL-STD-810G certification, which means it can withstand some “hit”.
The “next Galaxy Watch” will be released on Unpacked later this summer, and it is expected to be around early August. Looking back, Samsung usually organizes the Autumn Unpacked event in the first or second week of August, and this year should not be any different. In fact, the recent leak also hinted at the Unpacked event on August 3. In terms of price, the Galaxy Watch 3 starts at US$399 (approximately RMB 2,600), so it is expected that the price of this Classic model will be at least US$500 (approximately RMB 3233).
