Recently someone leaked revealed some hardware information about Samsung’s next-generation flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S23 series on Twitter today, mainly related to the processor.
Kuo said that Qualcomm will likely be the sole processor supplier for Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series, an increase from the current 70 percent of Galaxy S22s that use Qualcomm chips, which he said was due to “the next-generation flagship 5G made by TSMC’s 4-nanometer. Chip SM8550 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2)”.
Kuo also said that Samsung did not use its own Exynos 2300 processor because it could not compete with the SM8550. He said the SM8550’s advantages in computing power and power efficiency come from being “optimized for TSMC’s design rules.” Finally, Kuo also pointed out that Qualcomm will greatly benefit from Samsung’s decision to gain “more market share in the high-end Android market in 2023.”
Most of the revelations are related to Apple’s products, and the AppleTrack website shows that more than 72% of his revelations are correct. At the end of last month, Ming-Chi Kuo also broke the news that Apple may have “failed” in developing its own 5G modem chips, so it may use Qualcomm’s products for the foreseeable future.
