At the moment the Galaxy S9 is the flagship of the Samsung, but no doubt there will be a successor. Next year will be the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S10 would be released in three variants, according to sources.
According to the typically well-informed source Etnews, Samsung is working on three models for the Galaxy S10 series. The latest series of models always came as two versions, with an Edge or Plus version of a device, in addition to the standard model. The three models must also ensure that Samsung is stronger than the competition.
Code Names
The Galaxy S10 series has to be announced in the first half of next year. The devices are currently being tested under the code names Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2. What the exact name of the S9 successor and whether that indeed becomes S10 has not yet been confirmed.
Samsung may also have plans for a cheaper version with, for example, the name Galaxy S10 Lite. Huawei has been doing good business with Lite devices for years and also released the Huawei P20 Lite with its latest flagship.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Three Models
If we go on the Beyond 0, this device will get a 5.8-inch display, along with a single camera at the back. The Beyond 1 also has a 5.8-inch display, but the phone gets a dual camera on the back. The device with the codename Beyond 2 gets a 6.2-inch display and a triple camera; three cameras, as with the Huawei P20 Pro.
The Beyond 0 has to become the entry model according to the Korean source. This device will, if the messages are correct, be cheaper than the S-series and more expensive than the A-series. The Beyond 2 must be the most extensive top device. It is not known whether the Galaxy S10 will also have a fingerprint scanner under the screen. This is a technology that we see a little more often but is not yet being used on a large scale.
Samsung can present its new flagships at CES 2019, which will be held from 8 to 11 January in Las Vegas. So as soon as more is known about the Galaxy S10 series from Samsung, we will keep you informed.
