Announced at the same time as the Galaxy S10, S10 + and S10e, the S10 5G is the only handset in the new lineup of high-end Samsung smartphones that still could not be bought – but that has a date to end. According to the influencer Evan Blass, the Galaxy S10 5G is expected to be released by the Verizon operator in the United States, exclusively, on May 16.

Today, Verizon officially launched 5G mobile services in the US, but only in two cities: Chicago and Minneapolis. By the end of 2019, the operator plans to offer the 5G in more than 30 places across the country. According to Samsung, the 5G can achieve data transfer speeds of up to 1Gbps. Although you can not really reach it in real life, download and upload speeds will be faster than in 4G – up to about 20 times, according to Samsung.
The American price of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, however, is still unknown. But as the device is expected to be available at about $1200 in Korea (256GB model), it is likely that the US price will not be much different. In other words, a Galaxy S10 5G with 256GB can be as expensive as a Galaxy S10 + of 512GB, which currently costs $1249 in the US.
Although not very different in terms of design from their siblings, the Galaxy S10 5G is the most advanced Galaxy S smartphone ever made, much depending on their 5G capabilities.
The handset is powered by the same Snapdragon 855 processor that can be found inside all other S10 phones sold in the US – along with 8GB of RAM. But it is bigger than the other S10 models as it comes with a 6.7-inch screen with 1440 x 3040 pixels – the largest screen in any Galaxy S device to date. Another unique thing of the device with 5G is a special 3D camera, which will bring features of augmented reality.
And to make it all work for a reasonable amount of time, a good battery is required. The component that supports the smartphone has a capacity of 4500mAh, another record in the S line. The S10 5G also features such as a dual front camera, dust and water resistance, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and support for microSD card.
In South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be available in 3 color variants: Majestic Black, Royal Gold, and Crown Silver. The colors in the United States have not yet been revealed.
