It’s almost confirmed now: Samsung is wrapping up the Galaxy Note series, and the company will now direct all its flagship efforts towards the Galaxy S and foldable device lines. But while a Galaxy Note 21 might not see the light of day this year, chances are high that South Koreans will create a Galaxy Note FE. That’s what Ross Young, a famous analyst and executive director of the company that specializes in DSCC screens, claims and adds that a Galaxy Note 20 FE is actually possible.
According to him, “despite not having a Galaxy Note 21 on the way, we can see a Note 20 FE” later this year. “The lack of a Note 21 series means that the S21 series will sell larger volumes for longer, and could outperform the S10,” he noted.
In case Young is right and Samsung has a Galaxy Note 20 FE planned to end the Note series, both the informants who have been guaranteeing for months that the Note 20 would not have a successor and the executive who denied the end of the line would each be in their own way, correct in their statements. Recalling that just yesterday the Ice Universe leaker decreed that the Note series would be closed.
But that, for now, is just speculation, and we must wait for an official position from the company, which should happen by the end of the year or at the latest when the Galaxy S22 series is revealed globally.
What is an FE model?
FE stands for Fan Edition, and it is essentially a cheaper version of a premium device that comes with almost the same main features as the original model. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G model, which has shrunk compared to the S20 in terms of design and configuration. However, the price is relatively more affordable, and it is also equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.
Therefore, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 FE will most likely be planned according to this idea, and the configuration will be reduced to a certain extent based on the existing Note 20 series, and the flagship chip platform will be retained, and the price is expected to drop.
