Samsung has already been in circulation for many generations two batches of high-end phones per season. The first half of the year is for the S line models, with the Galaxy S20 as the last to arrive, and the second half is for the Note series. The ones that would play for this year would be the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, we will see if in August or if they are delayed because of the coronavirus.
During all these years, Samsung has been changing its strategy regarding its own-made processors. Now it seems that this will happen again since there are already leaks that speak of an Exynos 992 to replace the current Exynos 990 that is not even 6 months old.
According to the latest leaks, Samsung would already have a new high-end processor version in the oven to be sandwiched between the current Exynos 990 and the future version to be released by the Samsung Galaxy S30 next year. The chip would receive the name of Exynos 992 and would be ready for the month of August, arriving in time to be mounted on the Note 20 and launched jointly with them.
This new Exynos 992 could be the first to release the 6-nm technology of the Korean manufacturer, thus becoming the first brain manufactured with this size of transistors, since for this 2020 the first 5 nm processors onboard phones are expected. Huawei and Apple, and the presentation of the possible Snapdragon 875 5 nm to end the year.
The leak also says that this Exynos 992 would be chosen to be mounted on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 that the manufacturer sells at home in South Korea. As relevant data, the Samsung Galaxy S20 equipped the Snapdragon 865 in this generation for this territory, something very unusual in the planning of Samsung launches worldwide.
If the rumors surrounding this leak are true, this Exynos 992 would return Samsung to the fight at the graphic level with the current Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm, since the Exynos 990 has been left too far behind with the last generation jump. The alliance of Samsung and Nvidia would not come to fruition until next year, 2021, so the jump in graphic power should not be very pronounced, although perhaps enough to equate both brains.
