On Wednesday, August 7, Samsung introduced its new flagship smartphones Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. The presentation of the devices took place in New York, the live broadcast was on the official website of the company.
The first thing I think about when I see the Note 10 and Note 10+ is that it is a lot of screens, the whole front is covered with a screen except a small hole in the middle that I think fits well, it looks good and Samsung itself seems do not want to hide it but are proud of how small that hole actually is and what they have managed to achieve.
As usual, when it comes to Samsung it is first big focus on the screen and so this time too, Note 10 has a 6.3-inch screen with 2280 x 1080 in resolution, Note 10+ has a larger screen of 6.8 inches and 3040 x 1440 pixels in resolution. Thanks to the new infinity screen, both models have 95% screen space and probably this is something we can get used to now. Both models will also have the fingerprint reader under the screen, just like the S10 series.
Under the shell of both models, we find the Snapdragon 855, for some reason not 855+ which is snap sharper. Note 10 will receive either 8 or 12GB in frame with the only 256GB of storage. Note 10+ instead comes with only 12GB of the frame and you can choose between 256 or 512GB of storage, it is also only Note 10+ that supports memory cards.
In previous Note models, the camera has usually suffered for some reason, but not this time. Both Note 10 and Note 10+ will be equipped with three camera lenses, an ultra-wide angle of 16MP, standard wide-angle of 12MP and a telephoto lens of 12MP and a 10MP front-facing camera.
If you choose Note 10+ you get another lens that measures the depth (DepthVision) which allows you to edit images and videos afterward using bokeh effect, but you can also do your own 3D rendering thanks to the camera where you can simply create their own 3D characters by scanning them.
Both models also come with a new feature that Samsung calls Audio Zoom, and in short, it will be possible to zoom in on the audio when recording video and focus on the exact audio that you choose to zoom in on. This is something that you obviously have to test before we can say if it is a function that is needed and works, in theory, it clearly sounds interesting.
The S Pen is a must at Note and this time it has also received a major upgrade as it now has more motion sensors where it is now possible to control the phone via gestures with the pen in hand, perfect solution if for example take a selfie or just want to easily switch between different camera modes. The battery in the watch has also received a lift where 10 minutes of charging gives 10 hours of use, charging is easy on the phone when it is in place.
In terms of connectivity, both phones have no 3.5mm earphone jack, support Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi, USB v3.1 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, GPS, NFC. The battery capacity, Note 10 has 3500mAh while the Note 10+ has 4300mAh. They both support fast charging and wireless charging.
Furthermore, you can now connect the Galaxy Note 10 via cable to a PC or Mac and bring Android applications on the big screen. In addition, in DeX mode, files can be moved between phone and PC via drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste.
Colors, the Note 10 come in Aura Glow, Aura White, Aura Black, Aura Pink, and Aura Red options. For the Note, 10+ comes in all the Note 10 colors expect Aura Red.
The phone comes in two versions for each, LTE and 5G. For the Note 10, the LTE is priced at $949 and the 5G is priced at $1049. On the other hand, the Note 10+, the LTE is priced at $1099 and 5G at $1299. Note that the Note 10 5G model is only available for the Korean market. The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ go available starting August 23rd but pre-orders start today August 8th.
