Samsung is already working on a successor to its Galaxy Fold, the South Korean news site TheElec reports. The new folding phone gets a bigger screen when you unfold the device, namely an 8-inch panel. The first foldable phone from Samsung received a 7.3-inch screen. In addition, Samsung would also work on support for its S Pen stylus that we know from the Galaxy Note series. The company would now ask suppliers to make parts for the S Pen that will be used with a folding device.
According to the rumor, the new Fold would retain the same concept as the current folding phone, meaning that the large screen folds inwards and that there is a second, smaller screen outside. In the eyes of many critics, the 4.6-inch cover screen of the Fold was too small, but nothing is known about the size of that screen with the successor.
It is remarkable that we already hear rumors about another foldable phone because the launch of the first Galaxy Fold was postponed. That decision was made after the telephones died in large numbers when they ended up in the hands of testers before the device hit the market. It is not yet clear when the phones will come onto the market after some improvements.
According to the South Korean news site, Samsung will present its Galaxy Fold at the end of this year and the device would then appear on the market early this year. For the time being it is only a single source that writes about a new Galaxy Fold and therefore it is wise to take the information with a pinch of salt for the time being. Although it seems logical that this time Samsung would opt for a larger screen and come with S Pen support.
