Samsung today released a new fitness band Galaxy Fit 3, as the successor to the Galaxy Fit 2 released in 2020, bringing a number of design and function upgrades.
Igeekphone noted that the Galaxy Fit 3 has a 1.57-inch full-color OLED screen that is 45% larger than its predecessor, making it easy for users to quickly view information. The bracelet is made of aluminum and has IP68 and 5ATM dust and water resistance ratings. The silicone strap is designed with one click disassembly for easy replacement.
The Galaxy Fit 3 has a built-in accelerometer, gyroscope and heart rate monitor to track daily activity, fitness, sleep, stress levels and exercise. All data can be synced to the Samsung Health App via a paired smartphone. Unfortunately, the bracelet doesn’t have built-in GPS, so it can’t track movement independently of the phone.
Users can choose from more than 100 different watch face styles for the Galaxy Fit 3 through the Samsung Wearables app. The band can also be used as a remote shutter for a smartphone camera, or to control media playback on a paired phone. In addition, the device can also be used to find a lost smartphone. The wristband also has emergency SOS and fall detection to reach family members or emergency contacts in case of an emergency. It should be noted that the band does not have a microphone and speaker, so it cannot answer calls.
In terms of other features, the Galaxy Fit 3 also supports synchronization modes with Samsung phones, such as the ability to sync the phone’s Do not disturb mode or sleep mode to the bracelet. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Fit 3 can last up to 13 days on a single charge.
Available in grey, pink gold and silver, the Galaxy Fit 3 will go on sale in Asia, Central America, Europe and South America from February 23, with South Korea to be announced at a later date.
