Igeekphone July 17 news, Korean media bloter published a blog post on July 15, revealing that Samsung plans to use silicon capacitors in the Exynos 2500 chip.
Note: Silicon capacitors usually adopt a 3-layer structure (metal/insulator/metal, MIM), are ultra-thin and close to the semiconductor, which can better maintain a stable voltage in response to current changes.
Silicon capacitors have many advantages that make them one of the most commonly used components in integrated circuits:
First, silicon capacitors are cheaper to manufacture and can be mass-produced by means of batch manufacturing.
Second, silicon capacitors have high reliability and long life. Because of its simple structure, easy processing and integration, the failure rate of silicon capacitors is low.
In addition, silicon capacitors are small in size and occupy less space, which is suitable for miniaturization and high-density integration of integrated circuits.
According to the report, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed a test device for the mass production of the Exynos 2500 chip, and the early mass production work of the chip is ready to begin mass production.
Samsung plans to use the Exynos 2500 chip in two mobile phones next year, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ (there are clues that it will be cut, but it is impossible to confirm).
Igeekphone previously reported that Samsung Exynos 2500 has recently made a breakthrough, at least the engineering sample of the current stream has reached 3.20GHz high frequency, while saving more power than Apple A15 Bionic, will become “the most efficient chip to date.”
