In addition to the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Book 3 series announced at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event this morning, the company officially confirmed that it will launch the OneUI 5.1 upgrade program for older models in the near future.
The Galaxy S23 series comes preloaded with OneUI 5.1, based on Android 13. In addition to the new features, the new version also has better system and hardware optimization to better leverage the performance of Galaxy models.

Major new features in Samsung OneUI 5.1:
Make it easier to adjust the tone for selfies:
Using the Effects button on the side of the screen makes it easier to change the tone of your selfie.
Quick access to Expert RAW:
Expert RAW lets you take high-quality photos without processing or compression, perfect for those who want to take full control and edit their photos later.
Share family photo album:
Users can share photos with their families more easily with shared family albums. The gallery will recognize the faces of your family members and recommend photos to add to your shared family album. Each family member (up to six) gets 5GB of storage.
Enhance Remastering:
Remastering automatically removes shadows and reflections to enhance photo texture. IT Home users can also recreate GIFs for better resolution and clarity.
Simpler information display:
When you swipe up while viewing a picture or video in the gallery, you can see at a glance when and where the photo was taken, the device on which it was taken, where it was stored, and more.
More powerful search:
You can now search for multiple people or topics at the same time. You can even search for people by clicking on their face without tagging their name.
Select a location to save the screenshot:
You can now store screen shots and screen videos in a folder of your choice by setting them in Advanced Features.
Use 3 emojis in AR Emoji Camera:
Take fun photos and videos with up to 3 friends in Mask mode. You can have fun by clicking on emoticons to replace your friend’s face with a different character.
Improved layout and editing options in AR Doodles:
Brushes can now be used on the AR Doodle home screen for faster access. Even after creating a doodle, you can resize it and move the doodle around, and the new eraser tool lets you erase only part of the doodle without deleting the entire doodle.
New battery widget:
The new battery widget lets you check the battery level of your Galaxy device. From the home screen, you can directly view the remaining battery life of your phone, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other supported devices.
Intuitive weather widgets:
A new illustration style and a brief summary of the current weather conditions give you visual information on sunny, cloudy, rainy or snowy weather.
Set different wallpapers according to your mode:
Set different wallpapers on the lock screen and home screen depending on your current activity. When setting the mode, you can select a work wallpaper, a workout wallpaper, etc.
