Today, China’s leading mixed reality (MR) and artificial intelligence (AI) startup Rokid revealed its latest binocular MR glasses, Rokid Vision 2, at Rokid Open Day’s online event. Rokid Vision 2 MR Glasses is a mixed reality headset that combines AR and VR technologies. This solution allows you to project virtual objects onto the real environment, working in real-time.
The Rokid Vision 2 MR glasses are designed for tourism, exhibitions/museums, medicine, industry, and many other industries. The novelty may become one of the main competitors of Microsoft HoloLens, offering a more flexible system that expands the user’s experience.
Rokid Vision 2, according to the manufacturer, can be folded like regular glasses, and the lightness of the device provides comfort for the user during prolonged wear. The display uses Diffractive Optical Waveguide technology. The glasses are capable of transmitting 85% of the light, and the field of view for creating interactive objects is 40 ° (FoV), which is equivalent to watching a 120 “TV from a distance of 4m.
The product supports voice commands with built-in microphones, as well as gesture control. The glasses are equipped with bi-directional speakers. The manufacturer emphasizes the versatility of the device due to its wide compatibility with various platforms and the ability to perceive many external sources.
The Rokid Vision 2 MR glasses will be part of the infrastructure the company is building. In addition to the headset, the developers presented new applications: Fantasy World – a 360-degree immersive space, Holographic Cinema – a holographic cinema, Virtual City – a space with support for 6DoF SLAM, voice, and other technologies.
