According to what says at UMi’s site, the company is a global electronics and technology service provider that delivers the latest and most exquisite mobile electronic devices in over 20 countries. Lately it has managed to surf up in the market, presenting to us numerous of different devices, with very good quality and durance. One of the devices that lately showed to us Umidigi and I choose to buy from Coolicool in order to review it, was Umidigi C Note.
As I said, Umidigi C Note was bought from Coolicool, as I have done many times before for most of the mobiles I have. The choice of this certain mobile was made because of the very good specs and the durability that was shown in the video compared with Samsung Galaxy S8. You can see the durability of the Umidigi C Note, at the video, at the end of this review.
The Umidigi C Note came well protected from Coolicool. Inside was place and a EU adapter, that is not needed, since the mobile itself doesn’t have a Chinese plug.
Opening the package, came across a very beautiful box. On both sides you could see images of the Umidigi C Note and on the rear side, there was a sticker with all technical data of the mobile.
Opening the box, you could see on the top, the front side of the mobile. I have to admit that it looked very nice inside this package. The Umidigi C Note came to me with a protective case and a protective film, already placed from Coolicool. This was a nice gesture, as this show that they care for their customers, since with this you have all needed for starting working your mobile, secured.
Removing the mobile from the box, under it you can find a manual in english, the pin needed for the extraction of the SIM tray, a red (!) micro USB cable for data transfer and charging, the adapter for charging from a wall socket and a second film protection for the screen.
Umidigi C Note shows to be a very stable and compact design. Made out of metal and plastic, the plastic parts combine in a such way that you don’t hear any strange sounds or find gaps. Leaves a very beautiful feeling in the hand when holding it and despite the fact that weights 172gr, seems to be light. As for the dimensions, with 76.6 x 154.7 x 8.4 mm, you have the ideal dimensions for a mobile with 5.5 inch display.
The Umidigi C Note comes with a 5.5″ inch screen display and 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. With a view angle of 178°, you can see any detail clearly as and all the colors displayed. The screen density is of 401 pixel to inch. The screen has a curved 2.5D glass, with 95% NTSC, scratchproof and with Dragontrail. The dimensions of the frame is of 0.31mm, and the usage cover is of 69%. I have to admit that surfing arounfd the menu and the mobile in general, it didn’t lag, and the response was immediate, something good for everyday use.
Under the hood a 64bit Quad core MTK6737T clocked at 1.5GHz with ARM Cortex-A53 is ticking. For GPU, C Note has the well known ARM Mali-T720 MP2. Comes with more than enough 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded by 256GB with a Micro SD card. The Umidigi C Note comes with preinstalled a clear version of the latest Android 7.0, with no bloatware installed by the company or the eshop I bought it.
At the back side of the mobile, as we can see and at the images above, there is the main camera withe a resolution of 13 MP from SAMSUNG S5K3L8 with PDAF, which supports functions like smile recognition, scenes, HDR support, 1080p video recording, extra settings for exposure, white balance, anti-flicker, face recognition, ISO. The front camera is with 5 MP. Under the main screen we can find the Home Button, which is also a fingerprint scanner, With it you can unlock your mobile in 0.1-0.3s, while you can use it in several apps that need extra security like apps from banks.
Round the edges of the mobile, we will find the volume buttons, power button, speakers, a Mini USB port, the port for the SIM and the port for the 3.5mm audio jack.
The Umidigi C Note comes with a big battery of 3800mAh, which can give you 4 hours screen display. I’m sure that with a normal use, you will have power for two days more or less. An other feature that I liked, is that when the power hits under 20%, the mobile deactivates functions that cost energy, like the flashlight when taking images. With this you can definitely have more power to use.
Booting up for the first time, Umidigi C Note will ask from us to set it up (ask a name, goggle account, set up the fingerprint scanner, connect with your WiFi network). Of course you can do all that and later, if you don’t want now. Getting inside, we see a clear environment as I told you, with no bloatware installed by Umidigi or Coolicool.
The C Note comes with preinstall Goggle Playstore, so the first thing I did was to install Cpu-Z and Antutu, in order to see the specs of the mobile and how good is it.
As you can see, at Antutu Test reached the score of 38821, after a lot of searching and working with it (this means the mobile was not cold), so it can reach higher under better circumstances. The Umidigi C Note also supports features like OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, Gesture Sensing, Smart Wake, double tap screen, FM Radio, HotKnot. You can also download updates over OTA. When I got the Umidigi, I had it check for an update and there was one. A good sign that company cares and tries to fix mistakes fast.
The Umidigi C Note can take two nano Sim (or one nano SIM and a Micro SD card) and supports frequency Β20, which is widely used in Europe.
I have to admit that Umidigi C Note is a very good mobile, not only in specs but and in real life. Comes with very good specs and at a very good price. I bought it from Coolicool for 155.99$. Check also my video presentation as and the antutu test so see in real terms how well the mobile goes.
