Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi has officially announced that global sales of the Redmi Note 8 series have exceeded 10 million units within three months of launch. If we look statistically, this means that, on average, a Xiaomi-owned brand sold 110,000 smartphones in this series daily. This is an excellent performance for Redmi, which even managed to break the record of 10 million sales a month faster than in the case of Redmi Note 7.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53″ IPS teardrop-shaped display. It comes with an Helio G90T processor, 6GB or 8GB RAM and a 128GB UFS 2.1 drive. The 64MP camera is located on the rear panel and is complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle module, a 2MP macro module, and a 2MP depth sensor. The device is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner built into the screen, an infrared transmitter, an audio jack, NFC and a 4500mAh battery with support for high-speed 18-watt charging.
Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.39″ FHD + display and Snapdragon 665 chip. On the back, there is a quad-camera with 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP sensors. Both smartphones are great deals in their price segments, so it is not surprising that they are very popular.
In addition, the company also announced that in the near future it will announce something related to the upcoming launch of the Redmi K30 series, which will become the heir to the K20 (Xiaomi Mi 9T on the international market). We already know that the Redmi K30 will be equipped with a 6.6″ IPS display with perforation for a dual front camera (32MP camera and ToF-sensor) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
It will be based on the Snapdragon 730G (in fact, the same chip as in the Redmi K20); it is possible that the 5G version will use a single-chip MediaTek Dimensity 1000 system. On the back, there will be a quad-camera including a 60MP main module with a Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, a 13MP wide-angle module, and a 2MP camera. The new device will include a 5000mAh battery with support for high-speed 27-watt charging.
