Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi K30 5G and the Redmi K30 4G in China. Now, an informant suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro is also on its way and will be launched next year. Tipster Sudhashu Ambhore tweeted that the K30 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 865 SoC and will be launched in March 2020.
He also said the chipset will be combined with the Qualcomm X55 modem for 5G connectivity. This is a given that Qualcomm has already confirmed that all Snapdragon 865 phones will have the 5G modem. It is a package deal, so we are not sure how Xiaomi will keep the price of the device in the affordable range.
Little is known about the Redmi K30 Pro at this time. However, judging by the specifications of the Redmi K30, Xiaomi could include the same FHD + 120Hz screen in the device. A camera update can also be expected, as the Snapdragon 865 supports camera sensors up to 200MP. It is also capable of recording videos in slow motion at 960 fps / 720p and capturing videos at 8K / 30 fps.
In addition to an increase in camera specifications, you can also expect the Redmi K30 Pro to bring a big boost in CPU and GPU performance. You could also get additional features, such as a fingerprint sensor on the screen instead of the physical scanner mounted on the side of the Redmi K30.
We expected to hear about the Redmi K30 Pro during the launch of the Redmi K30. If it really will launch in March, Xiaomi will probably only start making fun of the device in the new year. For now, all eyes are on the wider availability of the Redmi K30. The device is already available in presale in China. A wider launch should follow soon.
