Xiaomi, the Chinese multinational electronics company, is set to launch the successor of the Redmi A1 mobile phone and has christened it the Redmi A2. WinFuture has now exposed the much-awaited telephone, and its renderings and configuration specifications have been revealed. The Redmi A2 retains the same design as its predecessor and boasts a waterdrop screen and dual rear cameras. However, the highlight of this new device is its processor, which is said to be powered by MediaTek’s newly released Helio G36 chip. The Redmi A2 is also packed with advanced specifications that carry over from the Redmi A1.
The MediaTek Helio G36 chip is a next-generation processor that adopts the 12nm FinFET process. This chip can support a 50 Megapixel camera, a 90Hz display, and MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game engine. It also supports the dynamic allocation of CPU, GPU, and memory resources. The chip also supports global dual 4G connections and intelligently predicts Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency. The octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor in the MediaTek Helio G36 delivers a peak frequency of 2.2GHz for entry-level gaming smartphones. The IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU offers a combination of performance and power efficiency, supporting up to 8GB of LPDDR4x memory.
The Redmi A2 also has a large, 6.52-inch HD + resolution IPS LCD screen, built-in 2GB of memory, and 32GB of storage. The storage capacity is expected to be expandable, adding to the users’ convenience. The device has an 8 million pixel primary camera and an auxiliary AI camera at the rear. The phone is pre-installed with and runs on Android 13 (Go version) and is powered by a massive 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging through the micro USB port.
The Redmi A2 is expected to hit the markets in a few weeks and will be priced at 97 euros (currently about 711 yuan). The phone will be available in black, blue, and green. With the upgraded processor and other advanced features, the Redmi A2 will make waves in the tech industry and become a popular choice among customers.
