Xiaomi announced it would release the entry-level model Redmi A1 in India and other markets on September 6. Officials stress that the phone is made in India.
Additionally, Xiaomi has just released official renders of the device and some warm-up posters showing several flavors of the phone. The teaser page shows that the machine will be equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, a 6.52-inch 1600 x 720 resolution 20:9 display, equipped with a MediaTek Helio A22 chip, as well as LPDDR4X RAM, and eMMC 5.1 storage, support for 10W charging, dual SIM and microSD card insertion slot, 3.5mm hole and FM radio,
In addition, the machine is also equipped with an 8MP f/2.0 main camera, an f/2.2 secondary camera, and a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera on the front. Other known features include Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, which run the Android 12 system, measure 164.9×76.75×9.09mm, and weigh 192g.
It is worth mentioning that there are also netizens who have released hands-on photos of this model. According to a Twitter user, the Redmi A1 does not exceed 10,000 Indian rupees (about 867 yuan).
It is worth mentioning that the MediaTek Helio A22 chip was released in July 2018. The chip is based on TSMC’s 12nm process, uses a 4-core design, and has a maximum frequency of 2.0GHz.
