After a long time of appearing as a rumor, Realme has officially presented the Realme X50 5G smartphone at an event recently held in China. Just like the previous leaks, this phone impresses with its eye-catching “punch” design, attractive hardware configuration such as a quality 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 765G chip, 5G support.
At this point, the design of the device no longer hid any secrets. As in other models of the brand, we find a chassis made of glass and aluminum, whose front part almost entirely houses a large screen of 6.57 inches Full HD +. The panel uses IPS technology, which has led Realme to dispense with the integrated fingerprint reader and move this sensor to one of the sides of the body of the phone.
But in the absence of an on-screen fingerprint reader, the refresh rate of 120 Hz is good. Realme has decided to raise the level from 90 Hz of the previous Realme X2 Pro, giving this device one of the highest refresh rates seen so far on a mobile, only matched by some gaming terminals.
The interior of the X50 5G is headed by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with an integrated 5G modem, which gives the device the ability to connect to new telephone networks. Next to the chip, we find 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage and a battery of 4200mAh capacity with fast charging VOOC 4.0 of 30W of power.
As a novelty of this device, Realme UI is introduced, a new software based on Android 10 with which the brand aims to differentiate the experience of its devices from that offered by OPPO terminals. While not much is known about this personalization layer at the moment, we know that Realme 3 will be the first of the current models to receive it, at some point this month.
As for the photographic section of the terminal, we have the main camera of 64MP of resolution, accompanied by a 12MP telephoto, a super wide-angle of 8MP and a macro of 2MP. On the front, the number of cameras is reduced by half, and inside its double screen hole, we find two sensors, 16MP and 8MP respectively.
The new Realme X50 5G goes on sale this Tuesday in China, at a price that starts from 2499 yuan (around $360) for the model with 8GB of RAM, and 2999 yuan (about $432) in the case of the most advanced version. For now, Realme has not ruled on the availability of the phone globally.
