Recently received from TomTop a new TV Box and I would really like to thank them for that, for sending it so fast! The TV Box that I got is the DoCooler R39 Pro, which includes the latest 64bit octacore Amlogic S912, Android 6.0 and Kodi 17.0 preinstalled!
The DoCooler R39 Pro came to me well protected with the post office. Opening the package, came across a beautiful white box. Outside was saying on the top side Android TV Box and on the bottom side was saying the model of the TV Box, R39 Pro, the company and some info about it.
Opening the box we see inside it the TV Box it self, a really small in dimensions TV Box, the AC connector, a HDMI cable, the TV remote and a manual in English.
The first thing that you see it’s the really small size of the TV Box. And this is logical since it is only 9.7 x 9.7 x 1.7cm and weights only 131g. The second thing that you can see, if you take a good look at the image above, are the many gaps that the device has for the heat abduction. At the image if you take notice, you can see through the TV image! Inside the TV Box, inside the package we find a TV remote, which is exactly the same with the remote controller of Vorke Z1. There is also a HDMI cable and the power adapter.
The TV Box has 2 x USB 2.0 ports on the one side and a TF card slot and on the rear you can find the AC slot, HDMI slat, LAN slot and SPDIF. On the front side the only thing that we see is a LED light that turns red when is not working and blue when the TV Box is on.
So after we have connected our TV Box, it needs about 30 seconds to boot up and enter the launcher. The launcher is very simple but at the same time has everything as you can see in the image below
You can add apps if you want or change them. Going to the settings we can see the same menu as Vorke Z1 has. It has all we need to change and set up.
You can check for ROM update from OTA.
I run an Antutu test and I must say wasn’t that bad – 24716! The R39 Pro comes with Google Playstore preinstalled, Netflix and some other apps as you can see below.
Heading back to the main menu and running Kodi, we see that is already installed the latest version, 17.0!
Check and the specs that Kodi is saying that our TV Box has.
As we can see, R39 Pro has the latest 64bit Octacore Amlogic S912 with ARM Cortex-A53 at 2GHz and for GPU the Mali-T820MP3 at 750MHz. The TV Box has 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal storage but it can be expanded with TFT card. Features WiFi connection at 2.4GHz only, WiFi Hotspot, BT connection of course, HDMI, Ethernet. IT has installed Android 6.0 as we have mention and can play 4K video at 60fps, 3D in 1080p, HLG HDR. It also support AirPlay, Miracast and DLNA, while it can play all kind of formats, including those with Η.265 HEVC.
The DoCooler R39 Pro is a good and cheap TV Box.IT can easily handle all your basically desires. What I see at this moment, at TomTop they don’t have the DoCooler R39 Pro, but they have the KM8P Smart Android, which has exactly the same hardware configuration, exactly the same design and will cost you less from what I paid, if you use and the coupon code LQPKM4, since the final price will fall down to $38.99.
