Razer has announced the presence of its newest laptop in the flagship class for the gaming category. Still using the Razer Blade 15 Notebook name, there are many hardware upgrades offered by Razer in the new model, including the issue of using an Intel Core 12th gen Comet Lake processor.
Design
Gaming PCs are known to be big and heavy. However, it’s quite the opposite of the Razer Blade 15 (2022) which is slim and portable with a width of 355mm and a thickness of 16.9mm. Its weight, however, is slightly above 2 kg. Its glass appearance and black color give it an excellent design. The beauty of this machine could act on your decision to choose it.
Display
The Razer Blade 15 offers two screen configurations, for the same price. On one side a 15.6-inch QHD panel (2560×1440 pixels), with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and on the other a Full HD panel (1920×1080) with a refresh rate of 360 Hz. of this test, Razer provided us with the “Full HD/360 Hz” version. The type of panel remains the same, namely IPS. Even more interesting, gamers are also presented with an LCD screen with a refresh rate of 300 Hz. Razer also provides other variants that already use an OLED panel that supports touch, but with a refresh rate of only 60 Hz. The outside of the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass so it is not easily scratched and is more impact resistant.
Hardware
The Razer Blade 15 is armed with a 10th generation Intel Core i7-12800H 8-core CPU that promises super-fast performance for various needs, with a base clock of 2.6 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz. Unmitigated, the graphics sector is powered by the Nvidia RTX 3080 Super with Max-Q GPU. A combination that is sure to be able to crush all current AAA games. The advanced model of the Razer Blade 15 is equipped with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and storage in the form of an M2 2280 SSD with a capacity of 256 GB or 512 GB. Everything is wrapped in a slim body typical of the Razer Blade series complete with a Vapor Chamber cooling system and RGB Razer Chroma illumination.
Connectivity
The connection goes straight to the point and is very modern: on the right edge, there is 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port (Thunderbolt 1.4 and power delivery compatible), 1 USB-A 3.2 port, 1 HDMI 2.1 output, and an SD card reader. On the left edge are a second USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, and a jack. On the other hand, the machine lacks a memory card reader and especially an Ethernet network socket. The Razer, therefore, communicates exclusively wirelessly with the outside world thanks to its high-end Wifi module (Intel AC-9560, 1.73 Gigabits/s) or Bluetooth (version 5).
Keyboard
The Razer keyboard, however, offers vast customization possibilities via the manufacturer’s Synapse software, which allows, after creating an online account, to adjust the color of the keys and to program special functions. The system also allows you to create specific profiles for certain games or applications.
Sound
In addition, the computer is equipped with two speakers and a microphone. With THX® Spatial Audio technology, you get advanced 7.1 surround sound. This system offers great sound quality both on the speakers and when connecting headphones.
