In a publication released on Friday (28), POCO confirmed the arrival of the POCO F3 GT, the new model of the company’s premium family. The novelty had been leaked extensively, was found among MIUI codes, and was even already listed on the website of an American retailer. As the rumors pointed out, the POCO F3 GT is, in fact, an old acquaintance.
Confirmation came through POCO India manager Anuj Sharma and the company’s Indian division YouTube channel. The released video is about 30 seconds long and reveals that the POCO F3 GT will arrive on the market equipped with Dimensity 1200 chipset, MediaTek’s most powerful solution at the moment, with performance equivalent to the Snapdragon 870.
The production also reinforces the association of the device’s name with sports cars and engines, among other curious elements, such as rockets and Mars. Combining the presence of MediaTek’s high-end chip with the leaks, it is practically certain that the POCO F3 GT will be the global version of the Redmi K40 Gaming, Xiaomi’s gamer smartphone focused on cost-effectiveness.
The new POCO phone does not yet have a specific release date, but the teaser points to an announcement in the third quarter of 2021, which corresponds to the period between the months of July and September.
