As we know that rumors about the Google Pixel Fold have existed for several years, and last month a reliable source released the first rendering of the device. Now, South Korean media revealed more details about the phone.
The Elec reports that Google plans to mass-produce the Pixel Fold and related components starting in the third quarter of 2023. In other words, this foldable phone will definitely not be launched in the first half of this year, it may be launched in the fourth quarter.
In contrast, Samsung began mass production of components for the Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 in May 2022, production of the finished phone about a month later, and the phone’s subsequent release in August 2022.
The report also confirmed some more screen details about the Pixel Fold, reporting that the phone uses a 7.57-inch ultra-thin glass foldable inner screen and a 5.78-inch outer screen. These dimensions differ slightly from previously leaked information.
The Elec also hinted that the Pixel Fold’s screen might not be as good as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4 and that Google might not use the foldable screen technology that debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which would allow the foldable screen to be thinner. The report also said that the Pixel Fold is unlikely to support a stylus.
There are still many doubts about this report. It was previously reported that Google will release the Pixel Fold in April or May 2023.
