Owensboro will include e-cigarettes in its smoking ban by the end of the year

According to the American media 14News on August 25, Owensboro, Kentucky (WFIE) Owensboro City commissioner is re-examining the city’s smoking ban, to include electronic cigarettes.

City Commissioner Bob Glenn said there wasn’t much research on the effects of e-cigarettes when they drafted the original ordinance in 2014. Now, with the increase of e-cigarettes, especially the increase of young people in the community, adjustments should be made in time.

Glenn said many private businesses and establishments in the city have banned vaping and smoking. Owensboro City commissioners will hold two more meetings to pass the new ordinance. The law is expected to be amended by the end of the year.
