Oppo appears to be set to redesign its current quick charging innovation called SuperVOOC 2.0. According to information published on Weibo, the new technology will be ready sometime in 2021. The new innovation, which would make a big appearance as Oppo SuperVOOC 3.0, is reputed to offer an 80W quick charging experience.
Currently, Oppo’s fastest charge is SuperVOOC 2.0 and supplies power up to 65W. This charging system is capable of charging fairly large batteries such as those found in the Ace2, Find X2, and X2 Pro in no time.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro managed to charge a 4260mAh capacity battery in just over 40 minutes in our review. The same happens with other devices that have this technology. In some cases, for devices with smaller batteries, charging is even faster.
The increase in the additional 15W could be impressive. If Oppo manages to keep the rate constant at 80W, as it has done with the 65W load on previous devices, the time could be reduced to less than 30 minutes. Although many manufacturers have incorporated fast charging systems, most use much lower charging powers. If Oppo can deliver on the 80W load promises, it will set a new milestone.
Oppo has some competition in that space. One of the examples is its rival Xiaomi, which announced a few months ago the 100W Super Charge Turbocharge. However, as of today, it has not yet launched any smartphone with this loading speed.
