Realme launched the first Realme 1 smartphone a few months ago. Now, the company continues to release Realme 2 with Notch. Realme was a sub-brand created by OPPO and became a new independent company in June. Now China’s mobile phone factory has locked in the Indian market.
With the launch of Realme 2, you can’t help wondering when the country will follow up. However, Realme revealed to the Global Network reporter that there is no plan for release in China. Insiders pointed out that “the next step will be to enter Southeast Asia and Middle East markets.”
Realme 2 was officially released in India yesterday, with a 6.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels (aspect ratio of 19:9) and a processor using the Snapdragon 450 mobile platform. In terms of software, the phone is pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo. In terms of color matching, consumers can choose to drill black, drill blue, and red. Excellent design and low price make it one of the most affordable mobile phones in India. Some media pointed out that Realme 2 is coming from Xiaomi.
After China, the Indian market has become a battleground for the global mobile phone brand factory. Xiaomi, Yijia, Huawei and other Chinese smartphone manufacturers are rushing to sprint one of the world’s largest mobile phone markets, and the living space of small brands in India has been squeezed to a considerable extent.
According to IDC India, Xiaomi became India’s number one brand in terms of shipments, with a market share of 29.7% at the end of the second quarter of 2018. Samsung’s year-on-year shipments also had a breakthrough performance, from 6.6 million units to 8 million units, ranking second. The third and fourth places are Vivo and OPPO. Whether the performance of the new mobile phone Realme 2 brings new trends and breakthroughs is also attracting attention.
It is reported that Li Bingzhong, the head of Realme, during his tenure as OPPO’s overseas business unit, established Realme to fill the market vacancy based on insights into market demand. After operating the first generation of products, he found that the brand needs to focus more on market segments. It was decided to set up the company to operate the Realme brand independently.
