Oppo has introduced a new variant of the recent Reno 5 — the Reno 5 K — in China. The smartphone acts as a water-down version of the same and is in addition to the Reno 5 and the Reno 5 Pro. The Oppo Reno5 K comes with a number of highlights including a 90Hz display, quad rear cameras, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and much more.
The glow finish of the first Reno5 K is maintained in this new member of the family, as well as the more colorful options. We see a back with brightness and gradients and a front that, according to the brand, is 91.7% occupied by the screen, partly thanks to integrating the fingerprint reader since the front camera pokes out through a hole in one corner.
For the screen, OPPO opts for OLED technology in a 6.43-inch 20: 9 panel and FullHD + resolution, resulting in 2,400 x 1,080 pixels for the user. This panel refreshes at 90Hz (180Hz on the touch panel) and offers 750 nits of maximum brightness and contrast of 1,000,000: 1.
The brain of this mobile is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750, which is accompanied by 8GB or 12GB of RAM. There are, in fact, two models in terms of memory: one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and another with 12GB and 256GB, in both cases without a microSD tray. With this processor, the OPPO Reno 5 K supports 5G SA and NSA.
We come to photography and here we have a 32MP front camera with f / 2.4 lens and a quad rear camera, namely: 64MP f / 1.7 for the main one, 8MP f / 2.2 for the super wide-angle, 2MP f /2.4 for macro, and 2MP monochrome with f / 2.4 lens for depth readings.
On the battery, the OPPO Reno5 K opts for a 4300mAh dual battery with fast charging of nothing more and nothing less than 65W. The Reno5 K arrives with Android 11 running under ColorOS 11.1 and with dual SIM 5G / 4G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and file transfer. It has a headphone minijack and, as seems customary in OPPO mobiles.
The new Oppo Reno 5 K appears for sale in three colors, two of them shades of blue and the other in black. The model will initially go on sale in China at a price yet to be determined, and which will likely be announced market to market.
