After months of leaks and promotions, Oppo Ace 2 was officially introduced. It is the last 5G smartphone of the company and the first in the new Ace series which was made known by the very successful first model Oppo Reno Ace.
Speaking of Design
Dimensions of the case were 160 x 75.4 x 8.6 mm with a mass of 185 grams. While the body of this device is soberer than the one implemented by the company in Find X2 Pro. But its back is similar to that applied to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro phone, which is more rounded.
However, going back to the front, it is important to highlight that it comes with a hole in the side area just to house the selfies lens, making the display look cleaner.
In terms of Screen
Oppo Ace 2 comes with high specifications equipped with a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution. The screen also has a 91.7% body ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sample rate, 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, exceptional brightness at 1100nits and HDR10 + certification. It has a fingerprint scanner on the screen.
Under the hood
The phone is powered by the mighty Snapdragon 865 with up to 12GB of RAM and comes with “4D cooling” which includes carbon fiber and a steam cooling chamber.
Memory and storage are LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 respectively with Turbo Write and Host Performance Boost (HPB) technologies for very fast user experience. It runs Android 10 with the updated skin ColorOS 7.1. The combination of Wi-Fi 6 and 5G gives cell phone speeds up to 2950Mbps!
Cameras and other features
It has a main 48MP camera, an 8MP wide-angle sensor at 116 degrees and two 2MP sensors for macro/mono. The phone also has a selfie camera at 16MP. From the combination, you understand that it is a gaming mobile. The company has made special reference to how stable the frame rates are and how low it has managed to have battery consumption and temperature for long hours of gaming.
It offers 4D gaming experience as the software recognizes what’s going on in the game and vibrates accordingly. Ace 2 supports voice control during gaming through the smart assistant Breeno.
You can change the volume, brightness and other functions using the AI assistant. Unfortunately, Oppo Ace 2 does not offer 3.5mm headphone jack. Although it comes with dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos for an impressive audio experience on the device.
Battery and SuperVOOC 65W fast charging
It has a 4000mAh battery with support for SuperVOOC 65W fast charging. The battery can fully charge in 30 minutes. The phone also has 40W AirVOOC wireless fast charging which can charge the phone in 56 minutes, as well as 10W wireless reverse charging. The wireless mobile charger called Oppo AirVOOC has a fan for cooling with air, which maintains the temperature below 39 ° C. It is also compatible with Qi for simple 10w charging.
Prices and Availability
Lastly, the Oppo Ace 2 comes in Aurora Silver, Moon Rock Gray, and Fantasy Purple. The 8 / 128GB version cost is 3999 yuan ($567), for 8 / 256GB price is 4399 yuan ($623). While the more powerful version with 12 / 256GB cost is 4599 yuan ($652). It will be available in China from April 20. But it is not yet known whether the phone will be sold in other countries. Besides, the Oppo AirVOOC wireless charger costs 249 yuan ($35.30).
