After Malaysia, OPPO has launched its new OPPO A78 5G in the Indian market, which is targeted at the mid-range starting from Rs 18,999.
Igeekphone found that this model is basically equivalent to the domestic OPPO A58 5G renamed, but with the addition of NFC features.
OPPO A78 5G is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 700 chip and offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with support for microSD card expansion. In addition, OPPO A78 5G has a built-in 5000mAh battery, supports 33W quick charge, and comes preloaded with ColorOS 13 based on Android 13.
It features a 6.56-inch LCD drip screen with 720p+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
OPPO A78 5G rear camera features a double-ring design with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

OPPO A78 5G, which comes in two color schemes — purple and black — is already on sale in Malaysia and India, with Malaysia costing 1,099 ringgit, or about RMB1,708.
