“At the unanimous recommendation of the core management teams of OnePlus and Oppo, we have decided to fully merge OnePlus and Oppo teams; OnePlus will become an independently operated brand under Oppo.”
At present, Oppo Mall has changed its name to Huantai Mall, selling models of OnePlus, RealMe, Oppo and other brands, and models of OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 PRO and OnePlus 9R are also fully pre-installed with ColorOS operating system under the flag of Oppo Team.
Over the years, OnePlus has consistently offered two sets of software experiences, “Hydrogen OS” and “Oxygen OS”, on Chinese version and the international versions. After the merger of OnePlus and Oppo, Chinese models will all switch to Oppo’s Color OS operating system. For users in non-legal channels markets, the company said it will continue to use oxygenOS (OxygenOS), an international version of the oxygen OS that offers a similar experience to Android.

“Even with the deep integration with the Oppo team, our brands and operations will remain relatively separate, and we will continue to focus on delivering the best possible products and experiences to OnePlus customers,” OnePlus CEO Zuohu Lau said. In addition to continuing to launch products and events, the company will continue to engage directly with users and build feedback through the same channels as it has in the past.
