The manufacturer OnePlus presented last week a new Fluid Display screen technology that will offer a 120 Hz refresh on an OLED display that will also offer exceptional qualities in terms of color and contrast.
It should be found on its next generation of OnePlus 8 smartphones and in particular on the OnePlus 8 Pro. The future flagship model has begun to unveil itself informally and it should offer a curved display on the edges and marked with a punch for the front photosensor, instead of the popup camera housed in the upper edge of the OnePlus 7 Pro / 7T Pro.
An image released by the Tru Tech site claims to show the OnePlus 8 Pro and the setting screen allowing you to switch to 120 Hz refresh, in addition to 90 Hz (at work on the OnePlus 7 / 7T Pro) and the 60 Hz standard.
The 120 Hz setting specifies that maximum fluidity will be obtained, but at the cost of increased energy consumption. It is not specified if the transition to 120 Hz implies that the resolution is reduced to FHD +, as should be the case with Samsung and its Galaxy S20. The model in the photo would be a pre-production copy and we seem to see the usual notification slider on one of the slices.
TrueTech, who exclusively published the following image, has no further details on the device. But they should still appear in the coming days. By the way, there is still a third model in the room this year (something like a lite model) and I suspect that the 120 Hz are exclusive to the Pro version.
The date of arrival of the new OnePlus family is not known for certain, but we believe it will be still in the first half of 2020, while we wonder how good (or not) the screens of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be.
