The OnePlus 8 Series will be presented on April 14th. Now the price region of the two new top models has already been mentioned. According to a new interview with Business Insider.
The colleagues spoke to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. At least with regard to the United States, Lau said that prices should not break the $1000 mark. Despite Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, which Lau also confirmed again. However, the manager did not want to be more specific to the price range.
However, business insiders understand that even the most expensive version of the OnePlus 8 models should remain below $1000. In addition, I am excited to see which prices OnePlus will call in the end, because the technical data that circulates thanks to the rumor mill read promisingly.
In yesterday’s deep dive in the official forum, OnePlus confirmed many previously suspected features of the OnePlus 8 series. So the refresh rate of the display will increase from 90 to 120Hz. As expected, the top processor Snapdragon 865 will be inside with 5G support. It is supported by 8GB or 12GB of particularly fast working memory. Finally, there is an IP68 certification, which certifies the cell phone’s water resistance up to 1.5 meters.
Lastly, the OnePlus 8 Series should not necessarily be the price winners in the classic sense either. Lau had also hinted that the switch to 5G had resulted in design optimization and that the components were currently expensive. Small consolation: The OnePlus CEO thinks that smartphones with 5G should quickly become cheaper in price. At the time, the same trend also existed for the first 4G models.
