Waiting for the launch of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, officially postponed to October 29, other rumors continue to appear online on the entire range of GPUs: now, however, we are talking about the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Mobility series or the line of graphics cards based on Ampere architecture produced specifically for notebooks and laptops.
According to the indiscretions and images released via Twitter by the well-known tipster harukaze5719, then also taken up by colleagues at Wccftech, NVIDIA is preparing the RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 Max-Q / Max-P GPUs, of which it would send the initial specifications to some specific partner outlets.
The photos leaked online, of which you can see one at the bottom of the article, show that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 may only have a Max-Q variant (with optimized efficiency) since the Max-P (with optimized performance) would require too much. power to laptops; we can therefore expect Mobility GPUs with reduced clock speeds and GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 will also only be available in the Max-Q variant, with clock speeds and TDPs optimized specifically for laptops and notebooks.
The younger sister GeForce RTX 3060 instead could arrive in both variants, Max-Q and Max-P, with optimized GA104 or GA106 GPUs; according to what released by harukaze5719, however, this would be the first time we hear about the RTX 3060 Mobility. In any case, the invitation remains to take all these items with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, according to the latest rumors about the availability of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, this model is expected to hit the market with many more units available to users than its bigger sisters RTX 3080 and RTX 3090.
