Nothing, a company founded by Carl Pei, OnePlus’s co-founder, is about to launch its first Phone, Nothing Phone (1), and more information has now leaked out.
Nothing Phone (1) will have a transparent back shell, which Yu Pei and Nothing’s head of design Tom Howard revealed today. They really “wanted to bring out the inside,” Mr. Howard said.
“From an industry perspective, you’re looking at components that end users typically have never seen, so you almost have to completely change the entire manufacturing process to highlight them,” Howard said. It also supports wireless charging.
Pei says Nothing wanted to have its own, very recognizable, iconic design language from the beginning, so that when you look at all of its products, you can see consistency. “Nothing Phone (1) and Ear (1) are obviously going to come from the same company, and as we fill in the rest of our portfolio, We’ll keep the same philosophy, “he says, arguing that no other tech company other than Apple has such a consistent approach to product design, so Nothing should stand out.
It’s unclear when the Nothing Phone (1) will be released. According to a previously leaked user manual, the Nothing Phone (1) will feature a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, supporting for 90 Hz screen refresh rate and HDR10+. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor and Adreno 642 GPU, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and Nothing OS based on Android 12.
