A Samsung patent for a smartwatch was recently published that could include a projector in the Galaxy Watch in the future.
According to the patent, a projector on the side of the watch displays information, including the time and the user’s heart rate, in the area around the side.
The watch’s built-in projector, which contains several lenses and LED transmitters arranged in an arc, can project images or videos onto the back of the user’s hand.
According to Samsung, leds inside the projector dynamically adjust brightness and focal length for optimal display. Of course, if you want to render the image correctly, you need to keep the user’s wrist straight.
However, projection is a big test for the battery life of the watch, the small size of the watch can plug the battery is limited, in addition to the display of power for the projector, obviously not enough.

It’s unclear whether Samsung’s patent will make it into commercial production, but if it does manage to fit the projector onto a smartwatch, it’s bound to be a digital fad.
