Yesterday, Apple announced the arrival of a new 9.7-inch iPad hat carries support for Apple Pencil. In the past, the Cupertino company had launched only the iPad Pro models with Apple Pencil. However, the new iPad that has been unveiled today is the first iPad to support it. So, what is the difference between the new iPad and old 9.7-inch iPad?
Appearance-wise, the new iPad resembles a lot with the old one. It features an aluminum body, high resolution display and Touch ID. Compared to the new iPad and iPad Pro, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro carries support for ProMotion (refresh rate of 120 Hz).
The major difference between the new and old 9.7-inch iPad is that the latter does not carry support for Apple Pencil. At the launch event of the new iPad, the Cupertino company demonstrated plenty of new educational and AR apps that can be used on the newly unveiled iPad.
Unlike the iPad Pro models, the new iPad does not feature a connector to add a keyboard. However, a third-party keyboard can be used with the new 9.7-inch iPad through Bluetooth. Apple has teamed up with Logitech to launch a cheaper stylus worth 49 Yuan.
The 9.7-inch iPad has Apple A10 Fusion like the iPhone 7. It is more powerful the A10X chip and A9 found in iPad Pro models. The new Apple tablet has the same like the old model that can capture full HD videos. It is equipped with bottom positioned speakers.
Apple‘s 10.5-inch iPad Pro begins at a pricing of 5188 Yuan ($826). However, the new 9.7-inch iPad can be bought for 2588 Yuan ($412) and students can get it at a lower price of 2388 Yuan ($380)
