A number of top executives at Xiaomi have made recent announcements on the state of play in terms of Flagship Phones set to be released in the second half of the year. While at the same time not revealing anything as to what form the new devices will come in. We have had a leaked photo of the official spokesperson of Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup, Chinese actor Haoran Liu holding a device but no release date. The many rumors circulating the web indicate August, this coincides with a pre planned event set for that month.
It is looking more and more likely that the Flagship device, namely the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be released in the not to distant future. What else has appeared is a mystery device that has appeared on the Geekbench test results page a few days back going by the name of Xiaomi Capricorn. According to the details of the listing the phone will come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset (MSM8996) clocked at 2Ghz with 3GB RAM and run on Android 6.0.1 version.
The device being tested appears to be a base model, possibly for either of Mi Note 2 / Mi5S.Naming Mi series phones after signs of the zodiac has become something of a tradition at Xiaomi. The reason why we say this is a Mi device is because Xiaomi has a tradition of naming their flagship Mi models after signs in the zodiac and Top Fashion designers for their Redmi models. So unless they have switched them around to throw us off the scent, you can bet the Xiaomi Capricorn is the long awaited Xiaomi Mi Note 2 or the Mi5S.
The score of 2335 in the single-core test and 5659 in the multi-core test, however are pretty decent. Whatever Xiaomi have in store for us, you can bet it wont be to far off.Stay tuned, we will update you guys as soon as the info comes to hand.
