Motorola has just announced the latest mid-range phones, the Moto G8 Power and the Moto G Stylus. As the name implies, the G8 Power carries a large 5000mAh battery, while the other device presents a stylus. Both display a 6.4-inch screen, Snapdragon 665 chipset, and a very attractive price.
Moto G Stylus
The Moto G Stylus carries the same basic utilities as the Samsung S Pen, but at a very low price. Motorola also carries its own Moto Note application that allows users to take notes and make quick sketches after taking the stylus from their housing in the lower right corner.
There is also an adjustable quick launch menu that can hold several shortcuts for user convenience. The 6.4 inch IPS screen FHD + resolution has a hole cut for a 16MP selfie camera. The aspect ratio is 19: 9. Under the hood, Snapdragon 665 chipset resides with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded via a micro SD slot.
There is a 4000mAh battery with 10W charging over USB Type-C. This phone boots Android 10 which comes with Moto One Action. Other important specifications include a 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and a Hybrid Dual SIM slot that can hold 2 Nano SIMs or one SIM and microSD card.
At the rear, there is a quad-camera arrangement, which is led by a 48MP main sensor. There is also a 16MP ultrawide camera with a 117-degree field of view and a 2MP macro camera, just like the Power. The fingerprint reader is again located in the circular Moto dimples.
Moto G Stylus will sell for $299 and will come later this spring in the US. While the availability for other markets that have not been specified.
Moto G8 Power
Moto G8 Power displays the same screen, IPS 6.4 inches FHD resolution + 19: 9 ratio. The selfie camera layout and 16MP resolution is maintained but this time there are two speakers.
Furthermore, there is a Snapdragon 665 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which can be expanded via a microSD slot. Motorola also advertises waterproof designs but there is no actual IP rating.
As for the camera, it also has 3 vertical cameras include a 16MP main shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide cam that captures a 118-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro camera for extreme closeups. One of the main features of this device is a 5000mAh battery which is equipped with an 18W charger.
Motorola advertises usage for three days with a single charge that makes sense considering its low-power processor. The software part is handled by Android 10. The Moto G8 Power comes in Smoke Black and Capri Blue colors and will sell for $249 in the US and UK on April 1, 2020.
