Xiaomi has recently made an exciting announcement through its official Weibo channel. The first batch of the highly anticipated MIUI 14 has finally been leaked and is now available for all users. The first batch includes a total of 11 models, including the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, and the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. To upgrade, users can simply navigate to Settings>My Device>MIUI Version and upgrade to the latest version.
The latest MIUI 14 brings a host of new features and improvements. Xiaomi has been working hard to minimize the system occupation of flagship mobile phones and maximize application uninstallation, which results in a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. In addition, Xiaomi has also introduced the highly anticipated “photonic engine”, which has been deeply polished for an entire year. The photon engine is made up of three different architectures – intelligent scene recognition, resource dynamic scheduling, and resource computing engine – all of which work together to increase the fluency of third-party applications by up to 88% while also conserving power.
MIUI 14 also streamlines the pre-installed software, making it easier for users to delete unwanted apps. Third-party pre-installed software can now be easily removed, and even some system applications that come pre-installed with Xiaomi can be deleted. There are only 8 basic applications – phone, SMS, contacts, file management, system settings, application store, browser, and camera – that cannot be deleted from the system.
According to the official plan, the second batch of MIUI 14 upgrades is expected to be released by the end of March 2023. The second batch will support a total of 25 models, including the Mi MIX 4, Mi 12X, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11, Mi 11 Youth Vitality Edition, Mi 11 Youth Edition, Mi 10S, Mi Civi 1S, Mi Civi2, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40S, Redmi K40, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, Redmi Note 12 Trendy Edition, Redmi Note 11T Pro, Redmi Note 11T Pro+, Redmi Note 11E, Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note11 Pro, and the Redmi Note11 Pro+.
