Xiaomi MIUI officially warmed up the MIUI 13 system today, stating that MIUI 13 is smoother, originating from a breakthrough in the underlying core technology of the operating system. The three core technologies of focus computing, atomic memory, and liquid storage are fully upgraded, and the system fluency is significantly improved compared to the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version.
The Mi 12 series will be released on December 28, including Mi 12X, Mi 12, Mi 12 Pro, and other models. Among them, Mi 12 and Mi 12 Pro are both equipped with a new generation of Snapdragon 8. Fully pre-installed MIUI 13 system
The MIUI 12.5 enhanced version is aimed at the three core scenarios of the system: processor scheduling, memory management, and I/O, and introduced the corresponding optimization technology focus computing, atomic memory, and liquid storage. Focus calculation prioritizes the most obvious process perceived by the current user according to the scene and suppresses unimportant applications in the background. Atomic memory splits application memory, giving priority to ending unimportant tasks, and finely compressing memory usage. The liquid storage is highly sensitive to monitor the degree of fragmentation, which greatly improves the efficiency of defragmentation so that the mobile phone can be used for a long time as new. In MIUI 13, these three core technologies have been fully upgraded, bringing a significant improvement in the smooth system experience.
System fluency is comprehensively improved
MIUI and Thiel Labs jointly built a user control scene fluency evaluation model to guide optimization goals. After half a year of optimization, the fluency of MIUI 13 in the head application usage scene is 15%~52% higher than that of the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version. Compared with MIUI 12.5 enhanced version, the system application fluency is improved by 20%~26%. There are also a number of high-frequency usage scenarios where the frame drop rate has dropped by more than 90%. This improvement also makes MIUI 13 rank first among all mobile phones in Master Lu’s Android fluency evaluation.
Focus calculation 2.0
Behind the dramatic increase in fluency is the strong support from Focus Computing 2.0. In the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version, focus computing will increase the UI rendering priority for the core scenes that the current user perceives most, and concentrate computing resources to reduce the frame rate. In the focus computing 2.0 used by MIUI 13, the system not only perceives core scenarios such as full-screen gestures but also tilts computing resources to core system applications and core third-party applications, greatly improving the fluency of these applications in use. At the same time, liquid storage and atomic memory are also adapted to the latest platforms, and the background resident capability is still strong. After 36 months of continuous use, the read and write performance degrades by less than 5%, and it is as new as it is used for a long time.
MIUI will continue to invest in technology in the future to bring a lasting and smooth system experience to every user.
