Today, out of the blue, Xiaomi’s two top executives, Lei Jun and Liu Weibing talked about MIUI firmware. The first stated that “[MIUI developers] are doing everything they can to make [the firmware]better, and [it]will definitely be better.” The second said that “Redmi Note 11 Pro has an extremely long battery life, which makes people more and more looking forward to the MIUI future.”
Overall, the message is clear: Xiaomi’s top managers have started to spark interest with MIUI 13. Previously, it was reported that the firmware could debut in November, and we probably now have indirect confirmation of these rumors.
It’s still unclear what MIUI developers’ efforts are focused on 13. Rumor has it that no special innovations in terms of functionality are to be expected, but the shell will be transformed once again in terms of interface: new fonts, icons, effects of animation will appear. It is known that Xiaomi is preparing two versions of MIUI 13: Android 11 for older models and Android 12 for newer smartphones.
