The Xiaomi recently announced on its forum that it would halt the development of the MIUI 12 for a week. Despite the long period, the stop is not related to the pandemic or technical problems, but to a Chinese holiday: employees will be released between June 26 and July 2 because of the Dragon Boat Festival.
According to the company, the team that develops MIUI 12 will return to work on the customized interface on July 3rd. The stop is within the company’s schedules and should not disrupt the firmware release schedule, which is currently in beta.
Android 11 version on the way
Despite the stoppage because of the festival, Xiaomi users do not have to worry about the lack of updates for MIUI 12. In addition to the schedule does not change, the company is already releasing stable versions of the customized interface.
MIUI 12 began to be released in April in China, in the testing phase. During the month of May, the company started the global distribution of the novelty, which had its initial version based on Android 10.
With the launch of Android 11 Beta, Xiaomi has already started to develop the MIUI edition inspired by Google’s new operating system. According to the company, the first phones to receive the new edition of the interface will be the Mi 10 and the POCO F2 Pro.
