Last year, Microsoft introduced Surface Pro X, a version of its popular hybrid PC with an ARM processor, the SQ1. After the failure of the Surface RT, this was the new onslaught by the world of ARM processors and the result was a little different. However, these hybrids continue to experience some difficulties in performance and application availability, something that the new Microsoft Surface Pro X 2 should solve.
According to the latest rumors circulating on Net Microsoft is preparing to launch a new Surface Pro X. The next model should represent an advance not so much from the point of view of design, which in fact could remain unchanged, as in the equipment under the body.
In fact, we talk about the implementation of the SQ2 processor, reasonably based on Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G. This chip does indeed support next-generation connectivity, but it’s unclear whether Microsoft intends to take advantage of the ability to enable it on the new model or not.
As for the aesthetics, however, the presence of two variants seems to be confirmed: one with the classic platinum gray and one in black, as seen last year with the first Microsoft Surface Pro X. If this novelty is confirmed, Microsoft will be able to solve one of the major problems of this ARM version of its hybrid, thus managing to significantly increase the number of applications available for these PCs.
This new version of the Microsoft Surface Pro X2 should arrive in October, together with the new “Sparti” device, a model that we have already mentioned and that should arrive as the new Surface Laptop Go.
