After the presentation on the US market, dating back to last summer, Microsoft Surface Duo is preparing to land in the old continent where, according to current information, it should debut in mid-February. Microsoft, which has already confirmed the marketing of the product in Europe, is expected to propose its folding Android dual display also in Japan, United Kingdom, and Canada by the first quarter of the year.
To give the first indications on the European prices of Microsoft Surface Duo is the French retailer Darty.com, adding to the list two variants of the new device complete with memory configuration; at the time of writing the products in question have been removed, without however going unnoticed in the eyes of mspoweruser colleagues.
According to the shop in question, Microsoft Surface Duo will be available from February 13 and, more interestingly, in two variants with 6GB and 8GB of RAM; by way of information, we remind you that in the USA the device is marketed only in the 6GB size.
Surface Duo uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform even if its distinctive feature is the PixelSense Fusion display capable of reaching the 8.1-inch diagonal once the 360-degree hinge is opened; alternatively, it is also possible to use the two single 5.6-inch screens.
In summary, therefore, the base price of Surface Duo in Europe should be around 1549 euros (about $1875), an important figure if we consider that we will have a device with only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage; if the prices reported by Darty.com are in line with the official ones, we can say that without a doubt that, with a price of 1649 euros (around $1996), the Surface Duo model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is more convenient.
